New Safety Subject: Heat Warning Issued/Heat Related Illnesses
We have a high pressure system headed our way with temperatures starting to rise this Saturday and continuing through at least Thursday. I've heard everything from the high 90's to 109° from various forecasts. Regardless, the overnight temperatures will not drop very low so it will be hard to get any relief from the heat. Two weather discussions are linked below, one for Portland, OR and the other for WA state.

Remember to stay hydrated and replace electrolytes. A good quality sports drink that is fairly natural and includes a little calcium is 'Tactical' by Fluid. It can be found on Amazon (no affiliation) but I'm not sure where else. Remember to drink water to sports drink in a 1:1 ratio, but eating healthy foods is the best electrolyte replacement.
Start early, finish early, do attic or roof work first if possible, take breaks as needed in an air-conditioned space if possible and keep an eye on each other for symptoms of heat related illnesses. There is a possibility that the boss may pull everyone off the jobs because the heat poses a hazard that cannot be adequately mitigated, so keep your phones handy.
